November 5, 2019, London, UK -- UK company DCS (Data Capture Solutions Ltd.) has been recognised by industry peers for their process transformation work with the West Midlands Ambulance Service. DCS was shortlisted as a finalist for Public Sector Project of the Year in the 2019 Document Manager Awards. The 2019 Public Sector Projects shortlist, places DCS alongside large global company nominees such as Fujitsu. The award ceremony takes place on the 28th of November 2019 in London, United Kingdom.
DCS’s public sector project focused on modernising the West Midlands Ambulance Service’s human resources document management system. The project’s aim was to resolve the document management challenges when implementing NHS England’s Five-Year-Forward View. Another aim for the project was to support the Trust in becoming one of three ambulance Global Digital Exemplars. West Midlands Ambulance was successfully selected by the NHS as a Global Digital Exemplar in 2018.
The NHS Trust required the digitisation of hardcopies of over 5,200 personal and payroll files. The HR files were spread out over multiple locations covering a region of over 5,000 square miles. DCS presented and implemented a process automation solution that included introducing an e-archiving system, along with other document management initiatives, into the service.
