Capture technology company Kofax has announced its acquisition of business intelligence and analytics software firm Altosoft.
With this acquisition, Kofax will be able to integrate Altosoft’s BI and analytics capabilities with its current capture software offering. Organisations will benefit by obtaining more actionable information at a faster rate than otherwise possible, allowing them to improve response to customers, while reducing operating costs and improving regulatory compliance.
Moving towards smart process applications
A recent Forrester report identified Kofax as the leading player in the provision of multichannel capture software, which enables organisations to capture actionable business information quickly from paper, fax, email, MFD, smartphone and other inbound channels.
Over the last year, Kofax has complemented its core capture offering with additional mobile capture and BPM workflow capabilities. According to executive vice president Howard Dratler, with the Altosoft acquisition, Kofax now believe they possess all of the key elements to enable the provision of market leading smart process applications (SPA’s) which help organisations manage the “first mile” of customer interactions more effectively.
Improving business processes
Companies such as Data Capture Solutions (DCS), who are leading Kofax resellers in the UK, can help organisations leverage Kofax capture software to improve back-end business processes such as application form processing, invoice processing, claim handling, or employee records management.
Many of these document-driven processes benefit from “digital mailroom” or front end capture solutions, which enable actionable information to be electronically captured, classified and routed in a highly automated process as soon as it enters the organisation. Adding greater business intelligence and analytics capabilities will enable organisations to improve process performance and become more responsive.
