DCS Quality Control
When handling any business information its vital that industry standards are adhered to and maintained to protect the security, quality and legal integrity of the data in question.
DCS are compliant with both international and UK related standards and have regular internal and independant audits to ensure our solutions and services are as effective and efficient as possible both today and tomorrow.
ISO 9000 and ISO 9001
DCS have been ISO9000 accredited since 1997 under certificate GB2072 and we are currently accredited to the latest ISO9001:2008 standard.
ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9000 is maintained by ISO, the International Organisation for Standardisation.
Some of the requirements in ISO 9001 include:
- set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business
- monitoring processes to ensure they are effective
- keeping adequate records
- checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action in place when required
- regularly reviews of individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness
- facilitating continual improvement
Since our first external quality audit was conducted in 1997, DCS have not received any non-conformance notes, which we are extremely proud of.
Internal audits
DCS operate monthly internal audits on various areas of our procedures and hold QA meetings to discuss any issues and to find positive solutions as and when required.
We are also externally audited on an annual basis by independent consultants. These audits review how we comply with our documented procedures together with any 'non-conformances'.
Legal admissibility of scanned documents
In addition to our ISO9001 accreditation DCS also comply with the British Standard document BS DISC PD0008, which relates to 'the legal admissibility of scanned documents'.
BS DISC PD0008 lays down a set of stringent procedures, which if adopted, will ensure that any document scanned and managed under it will have a strong legal validity if required for presentation in a Court of Law.
Legal admissibility is especially important where legal, contractual or HM Customs/Inland Revenue documents are concerned.
